Beard’s Guildford office has now been made an independent operation from the Oxford branch with Hannell appointed construction director.

He joins Beard from healthcare developer Ashley House and was previously construction director at Rydon Construction.

Mark Beard, Managing Director said: “Over the last three years we have seen a greater volume of refurbishments, but less development of shiny new buildings.

“Although I expect this trend to continue, we are still investing in high-calibre people to grow and develop the business to get us into the right position for the upturn.

“I believe Guy’s wealth of experience and particular knowledge of the healthcare sector will help us to continue the steady growth of the Guildford office.”

Hannell added: “I’m excited about this opportunity to join this prestigious family firm and lead the Guildford office team.

“I have lived in the Surrey and Sussex region virtually all my life and am looking forward to using my local contacts with the Guildford community to get Beard more involved in local events.

“I’m also looking to build up a local/regional supply chain and hope that with yet more growth we can consider employing more staff within the Guildford area.”
