The contract was the largest signed in the construction industry during February in what proved to be a bumper month for many contractors.
Among the other big wins engineering contractor Hitachi Zosen signed off a £250m energy from waste plant for Biffa, while Winvic secured third in the top rankings with half a dozen wins, the largest a £90m logistics centre project for Jaguar Land Rover.

According to estimates by information specialist Glenigan, Morgan Sindall continued to dominate the other annual rolling league of cumulative contracts with just over £2bn of orders secured.
These annualised rankings were shaken up in February after HS2 stations at Euston and Old Oak Common dropped out of the 12-month rolling period totals for Balfour, Mace and Vinci.
This helped Kier bounced back to rank second place with £1.69bn of new work, helped by the £130m A5036 Port of Liverpool Access Scheme last month.
It is being pressed by Willmott Dixon in third place with £1.58bn of work also after a busy February.
Among the month’s other big successes McLaughlin & Harvey bagged a £127m Ph5 extension of Curragh Warehouse in Ayrshire comprising 18 warehouses.
