The sale will offer contractors, plant hire businesses, builders, groundworkers and equipment buyers the opportunity to acquire a substantial fleet of fresh, low-hour machinery and commercial vehicles direct from one of the South East’s leading operators.
The online auction takes place on Thursday 2 July. Much of the equipment has remained within the same ownership throughout its working life, benefiting from regular maintenance and professional operation.
The catalogue includes nearly 500 lots, including a strong selection of excavators, mini diggers, site dumpers, telehandlers, agricultural tractors, cement silos, tankers, drum rollers, compressors, commercial vehicles, trailers and a Scania volumetric concrete mixer, together with workshop equipment and assets from the company’s concrete supply operation.
Manufacturers represented within the sale include: JCB, Caterpillar, Kobelco, Hitachi, Thwaites, Kubota, and John Deere.
David Betts of Euro Auctions said: “Retirement sales such as this are always keenly anticipated because they often bring genuinely fresh equipment to the market.
“Skelton Plant Hire has built an excellent reputation over many years and buyers will recognise the quality of the machinery being offered, and we expect strong interest from buyers across the UK and overseas.
“Particular interest is expected around the fleet’s late-model, low-hour machines, many of which are ready to go straight to work. With new equipment lead times continuing to challenge parts of the industry and demand remaining strong for quality used machinery, opportunities to purchase well-maintained assets of this calibre are becoming increasingly scarce.”
“With quality used equipment continuing to be in high demand throughout the construction and plant hire sectors, the Skelton Plant Hire Retirement Sale is expected to attract significant attention from contractors and plant hire specialists. Specifically rental companies where reliable used machinery that is ready to work, offers exceptional value and over the cost of new stock.”
