King will replace Jim Ward, who recently retired, as regional director for Scotland on 17 September, bringing nearly 30 years of engineering, project management and construction leadership experience.

He joins from Robertson Construction Group, where he was executive technical director and a board member.

At Robertson, King worked across the contractor’s eight regional construction businesses with responsibility for preconstruction, planning, engineering, design, digital construction, quality and business improvement.

He will now lead BAM’s Scottish construction operation as the contractor looks to build on its workload across public and private sector markets.

BAM has a strong presence in Scottish healthcare and education, with recent jobs including the £72m net zero carbon Parkhead Health and Social Care Centre in Glasgow and the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Radionuclide Dispensary.

Its education workload includes Dunfermline Learning Campus and Caledonia High School in Rosyth, with both projects designed to Passivhaus standards.
