The Alexa rankings at www.alexa.com measure all websites in terms of traffic.

The website with the largest traffic is ranked number 1 – which is Google in the UK – so the lower your ranking number the more traffic your site receives.

Results as of yesterday show the Enquirer is ranked number 7,851 of all websites in the UK.

That compares with the Construction News website which is ranked at 10,421 and Building magazine’s website at 8,250.

Morby said: “Our model is simple – we aim to deliver relevant news and informed comment alongside work leads and job opportunities to the UK construction industry.

“The Enquirer is read by more key contracting people than any of our rivals and the trends show that gap is only going to grow.

“More than 17,000 people subscribe to our daily news bulletin as printed magazine circulations continue their decline
