Skanska ranked as the most successful contractor judged by only building orders during the month, after bagging the £250m Worthy Down military training centre for the Ministry of Defence.
Among the other notable contract awards Balfour, Costain, BAM & Morgan Sindall shared the £184m managed motorway scheme on M60 Junction 8/M62 Junction 20 for the Highways Agency.
Wates was confirmed as winner of a £100m Leeds office project for Roydhouse and an £85m job for the Ministry of Justice to build a secure college at Wigston, Leicestershire.
In the overall rolling 12-month tables, Kier maintained its place for the second month running at the top after a strong period of contract wins in May and June.
Balfour’s progress up the league was also hampered by several big projects dropping out of their annualised haul of jobs secured.
Carillion now ranks as the UK’s top civils contractor by value of work work over the year, with Kier now dominating the ranking as the most successful building contractor.
