We’re expanding! John Lawrie Tubulars is seeking a full-time Geotechnical Sales Manager to join our dynamic and knowledgeable team.
With over 30 years in business, John Lawrie Tubulars is one of the UK’s largest suppliers and premier manufacturers of steel tubular products. In 2021, we expanded into the Drilling and Geotechnical Engineering sectors, continuing our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence.
Our high-quality tubular piling products are used in a wide range of global applications, including construction, infrastructure, geotechnical drilling, and civil engineering. We are proud to support decarbonisation through the supply of repurposed steel tubulars for casing, drilling, and deep foundation solutions.
As Geotechnical Sales Manager, you will serve as the key point of contact between John Lawrie Tubulars and our customers across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. In this role, you will provide commercial, technical, and logistical support, ensuring strong communication and lasting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute a clear sales strategy for the UK tubular pipe market, balancing new business acquisition with the growth of existing client relationships.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Identify, qualify and pursue business opportunities; monitor competitor activity and market trends.
- Coordinate proposals and quotations closely with the Sales and Operations teams.
- Manage end-to-end sales from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports to senior management.
- Drive effective internal coordination—with production, logistics and customer service—to ensure seamless deliveries and quality service.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Geotechnical Drilling, and of the relevant market sectors – with primary focus on UK Steel Tubular products
- Strong understanding of geotechnical drilling is highly desirable, priority will be given to industry knowledge over sales experience (although both would be advantageous)
- High level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to regularly travel to customers (UK / Ireland & occasionally Europe) offices and production sites
- Willingness to attend occasional trade shows, exhibitions and networking events
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
