The hire company’s trading entity Nationwide Hire Ltd went into administration on July 28.

Suppliers subsequently received messages – shared with the Enquirer – informing them that the business has been acquired by Alliance Hire Solutions Ltd which is part of the Alliance Tool Hire Group.

The update said the business will now be owned by Alliance Hire Solutions Ltd but continue trading as Nationwide Hire Solutions.

The Alliance Tool Hire Group is one of the one of the South of England’s top five independent tool hire companies with ten depots.

Companies House records show Alliance Hire Solutions Ltd was incorporated last month.

In a statement Alliance said: “Alliance Hire Solutions Limited, a subsidiary of Alliance Tool Hire Group, has acquired the assets of Nationwide Hire Limited following its administration on 28th July 2026.

“The move saves all 28 jobs at the company which will continue to trade under the Nationwide Hire Solutions name.

“Nationwide Hire Limited has been operating under challenging conditions for several years and generated a pre-tax loss of £1m for the year to September 2024. BDO has been appointed as the administrator, and they will be contacting all of Nationwide Hire Limited’s creditors.

“Alliance Tool Hire Group says the acquisition will significantly increase its purchasing power with suppliers, supporting its continued efforts to build out its supply chain across the UK.”
