As we experience sustained growth across the business, we are recruiting for Electrical and Mechanical Project Engineers to join our team in the Southeast of England, working in West Sussex, Hampshire or Kent. Barhale’s civil engineering and infrastructure projects are varied in value, complexity and duration, from established frameworks to individual bespoke projects and unplanned emergency works. With projects varying from £200k to £10m+, the Project Engineers will be essential in driving efficiencies within the scope of work, driving MEICA elements of work, and providing a high standard of project-related activities.
The Role
Working on our MEICA portfolio, the Project Engineers will bring demonstrable relevant or industrial installation experience and practical skills. The engineers will provide the project with detailed technical input and make sure that works meet specifications while prioritising safety. Close collaboration with construction teams will be key to making sure that project activities are planned and executed in line with all requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial
- Preparing detailed MEICA & interface engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Producing functional specifications and ensuring that all supporting scope is delivered on time.
- Developing and overseeing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Carrying out Technical Assurance checks and audits of contractor activities and outputs.
- Managing project documentation, including technical reports, change orders, and
- project records.
- Assigning tasks and providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Managing multiple engineering aspects of projects from inception to completion, ensuring technical and quality standards are met.
- Ensuring that projects adhere to codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Understanding project risks and coordinating mitigation activities.
- Liaising with all stakeholders including clients, consultants, subcontractors, supervisors and more.
- Providing technical support to clients.
- Preparing and delivering project progress reports and presentations.
