£180m Rathbone Market scheme gets planning
English Cities Fund has won planning approval for its £180m Rathbone Market mixed-use scheme, a key part of the redevelopment of Canning Town centre in London.

The 680,000 sq ft scheme will be one of the first sites to be developed within the overall masterplan for the area, which ranks seventh largest in the UK.
The development has a residential and retail focus, alongside a rejuvenated market. Proposals include a 21-storey building at the western end of the scheme.
English Cities Fund project director, Howard Morris, said: “With our development partners we are planning that, by the time we are in a position to commence development, we will have been past the bottom of the residential cycle and therefore we anticipate building out in a rising market.
Rathbone Market is one of six UK schemes being delivered by English Cities Fund, a public-private regeneration partnership involving the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), Muse Developments and Legal & General.
