Work will begin at the end of July providing jobs for around 150 workers. Marshall will build to a tight timetable that will see the centre’s doors open in time for Christmas next year.
Broad Street Plaza will be one of the few big developments in Yorkshire to begin this year.
The 280,000 sq ft mixed-use development will house a multi-screen Vue cinema, 100-bed Premier Inn hotel, restaurants and shops, as well as 50,000 sq ft of offices.
The construction group’s chairman Simon Marshall said: “It’ll be the largest one-off project we have built in Calderdale.”
Developer Gregory Group managing director David Brimblecombe said: “We’re delighted Marshalls is the preferred contractor, simply because of their very close links with Halifax and Calderdale.
