The job has Bam Construct in a tussle with rival specialists Overbury and ISG Regions.
Salford University has budgeted to spend £18m on the 4 floors it will take up in the 12-storey building, which covers around 100,00 sq ft.
The tender requires the fitout contractor to complete:
* Cat A & B fitout
* Audio visual equipment
* Specialist spaces including TV & Radio studios
* Specialist equipment for the above
* Cafe
* Open plan and cellular offices & meeting rooms
* Achieving a high level of acoustic separation
The winning contractor will be responsible for the detailed design, procurement, installation and commissioning of the large majority of specialist equipment.
The University is the second anchor-tenant at MediaCityUK, following the BBC’s announcement that it will relocate BBC Sport, BBC Children’s (including CBeebies), BBC Future Media and Technology, Radio 5 Live and BBC Learning to Salford, as well as all local and network broadcasting currently based in Manchester city centre.
