Works involve the development of the detailed design with architect Sheppard Robson and construction of a 13,500 sq m building at the Old Children’s Hospital Site, St Michael’s Hill.
The building will include teaching and research laboratories, with academic and administrative offices as main wings to a central atrium.
The project is on a sloping and constrained city centre site and will include associated infrastructure and landscaping works.
This project forms part of a more ambitious £80m plan to build a large university campus at the site, which will include a new mathematics faculty building.
Site demolition, bulk excavation and ground retention are to be carried out under a separate contract.
Interested firms have until 25 February 2011 to returns prequalification documents.
