The developer will pick a winner early in the New Year from Balfour Beatty, Bovis Lend Lease, Laing O’Rourke, Mace, Skanska and Sir Robert McAlpine, according to the Evening Standard.
Bovis Lend Lease was in line for the contract three years ago when the project stalled. The firm’s name is still on site hoardings in Leadenhall Street.
One property expert said: “The list is all the usual suspects for a tower project of this size with Balfour the only real surprise.
“Other big towers will also be casting for bidders and it won’t be a great shock to see the same names going for them as well.”
