But the plan to build a huge estate on farmland on Haydock Grange, Cottam has stirred up objections from locals.
Locals and councillors have criticised the plan to build on countryside land, when another site nearby has already been set aside for housing.
Following two public consultation meetings, Taylor Wimpey revised the proposals to include two village greens, a series of ponds and wildlife habitats.
Also on the revised masterplan is new car parking for shops and services and space for more community facilities.
A Taylor Wimpey spokesperson said: “We have now reviewed all the feedback and used this to develop our draft proposals.
“Our plans represent substantial investment in the area, but we want to know what local people think about our designs.
“We remain committed to engaging with the community and hope local people will join us at our exhibition to see how the plans have evolved.”
