The Northern Ireland-based construction group will work in joint venture with French process contractor CNIM on the incinerator plan, with Lagan’s share of the job expected to worth up to £30m.
The energy-from-waste facility will save over 250,000 tonnes of household and business waste from being sent to landfill each year and will generate 20MW of electricity, enough to power a town the size of Lowestoft.
Once planning has been obtained construction is scheduled to start in Spring next year. The energy from waste plant job will employ a 250-strong workforce.
