The sites are located on the edge of Stafford town centre close to the town’s existing retail facilities and are separated by the River Sow.
LXB Retail has been working with Stafford Borough Council to progress the development of a 220,000 sq ft retail project with 1,200 car parking spaces on the main 4.5acre site it bought, which was recently cleared for temporary car parking.
The developer has signed up a major retailer for an anchor 65,000 sq ft store and will submit a planning application within the next few months with construction work anticipated to start next year.
Its other site on the south side of the river is earmarked for a food store-led development.
Tim Walton, chief executive of LXB Manager LLP, said: “This is another exciting retail development opportunity for LXB Retail which was recognised as one of our ‘pipeline’ opportunities.
“We look forward to helping to enhance the retail facilities of Stafford town centre with a high quality development.”
