Under the design and build contract Volker will construct a third rail terminal at Felixstowe Port that will double the rail terminal capacity.
The Trinity deep water dock rail terminal will have 7 loading lines, one service line and one run around line. It will handle new 30-wagon long lines.
A transverser at the end of the terminal will be required to move engines between the different rail tracks.
The terminal will require a new two track line within the port which will connect to an existing single track at the Port boundary.
Works include a new gatehouse, drivers rest room, ground improvement and M&E services.
