A previous work agreement with BAM Construction, Laing O’Rourke, Galliford Try, Robertson Dawn Health will come to an end in January 2013.
The new agreement will be known as Frameworks Scotland 2 and is expected to comprise a panel of five contractors, who will share a forecast £110m annual spending programme on community hospitals, primary care centres, mental health units and other acute services.
The opening of the framework comes as a report for the Scottish Government identified that £1bn needs to be spent on essential maintenance and repairs.
‘State of the NHS Scotland Estate’ categorised as high or significant risk, and would require extended programmes of refurbishment and upgrade works running over several years.
