The £10.5m design and build job won through competitive tender is a breakthrough for the integrated building services and fit-out firm in the highly competitive London office market.
Mitie will refurbish a 100,000 sq ft building for Eastgate Holdings at Fenchurch Place for the letting market.
The building will be stripped to shell and core before new floors, ceilings and building services are fitted to achieve a very good BREEAM rating.
The site is directly above Fenchurch Street overground station with associated trackside works and a refurbishment of the station’s listed stone entrance façade.
This will require significant out-of-hours working for key activities such as facilitating steelwork deliveries and craning main plant deliveries to the roof.
Danny Leonard, managing director of Built Environment said: “This is another great project for our new integrated fit-out business.
“Our team will manage every aspect of the fit-out and on-going operations of this contract to ensure that we deliver a high quality, cost-effective and sustainable building that complies with carbon legislation.”
