The job to build 218 homes will involve demolition of five tower blocks on the Heathside and Lethbridge Estates.
Designs for phase 3 will provide two residential blocks of 1-4 bedroom apartments, along with a community centre and nursery adjacent to retail spaces created in the second phase of the development, built be Ardmore Construction under a £23m contract.
Rydon won the £16m first phase contract of the private-led housing development, originally consisting of 565 run-down flats.
Once phase 3 is complete more than 1,200 new homes designed to Code level 4 will have been built with over 50% of these reserved for private sale.
