The Manchester-based builder will design and construct the properties on a 13.2 acre brownfield site at Amblecote Drive, Little Hulton.
The extra care scheme will provide accommodation for more than 70 residents in one and two bedroom apartments with on-site facilities, including dining room, café, hairdressers, reception, communal lounges and private gardens.
The building, designed by Liverpool-based DK Architects, will be equipped with solar and PV panels, in order to reduce running costs and resident service charges.
Paul Strutt, managing director of Bardsley Construction, said: “The award of this contract shows we continue to benefit from our reputation for work for the public sector with an emphasis on partnerships with clients including local authorities, education bodies, housing associations and health authorities.”
