The partners will work with the site’s owner, Etwall Land  to deliver a scheme  incorporating approximately five million sq ft of manufacturing and distribution space.

The planned interchange is strategically located between the M1 and the M6, and Toyota’s UK manufacturing plant.

Its aim is to give the area’s biggest companies, like Biffa, JCB and Toyota, improved facilities to transport goods to areas such as Stoke, Derby and beyond.

A leaked masterplan shows the potential for 15 warehouses over 619 acres of land – the equivalent of more than 300 football pitches.

A public consultation will commence immediately.
