The Builders Consortium South West LLP is a group of SMEs formed to take on the majors.
The group was formed in 2009 when it won a place on the first phase of the Construction Framework South West and has now sealed a place on the latest deal.
The consortium is made up of local firms ERH Construction, Pearce Construction, R J Leighfield & Sons and Herbert H. Drew & Son.
Denise O’Leary, Communications Director for BCSW and Marketing Director for ERH Group, who led the bid team, said: “As a consortium of smaller firms we understand that to compete with far larger businesses, we have to deliver a quality of service that exceeds expectations.
“And it’s equally important to offer clients the ability to choose local contractors that are major employers in the communities in which they are based.
“We believe the combination of our four companies delivers an unrivalled level of regional experience and securing a place on the Construction Framework South West for the second time is a boost for the communities around these businesses and the local supply chain we all need to fulfil our contracts.
“Getting on the list justifies all the hard work the four companies put in and puts us in a position to bid for the region’s contracts valued up to £10 million.
“We expect the high quality work all four member companies have delivered and built their reputations on, combined with the local experience each firm possesses will stand the Consortium in good stead for future success.”
