The BBMV consortium also includes Alpine BeMo Tunnelling and the contract will take five years to complete.
The Whitechapel and Liverpool Street Station tunnels contract covers the construction of all station tunnels and associated works and is part of a £1.25bn tunneling programme first announced by Crossrail last month.
Ian Tyler, Chief Executive, Balfour Beatty, said: “This contract will require a team with technical and resource capability, and a comprehensive understanding of both the local issues and the requirements of the key stakeholders involved.”
Paul Smith, Chief Executive of Morgan Sindall said: “I am delighted that we have won this contract. The award demonstrates the Group’s leading edge skills in tunnel engineering and the fact that we are part of a very strong joint venture which has extensive construction capabilities.”
