The two firms have worked together on a contractual basis for two years, and Speedy has now become a key strategic partner of Connaught, which has grown steadily in recent years to employ more than 10,000 staff.
Speedy is now the contractors sole tools and equipment hirer from a single dedicated hire desk. The firm also acquires up to £1m worth of Connaught’s own plant.
Steve Corcoran, chief executive of Speedy, said: “I am delighted to be able to announce the latest in a string of long term contract extensions with a client with strong growth prospects.
The deal is one of a series of major wins announced by Speedy Hire in 2010, which has targeted new business from sectors including petrochemical, infrastructure and mainstream construction.
The business has reported challenging trading conditions during the recession but is upbeat about a business recovery during 2010.
