Caterpillar and JCB excavators along with a Moxy dump truck owned by N&R Todmorden were badly damaged in the blaze at Holden Gate Farm last week.
Fire investigation officers are treating the blaze as a “malicious ignition”.
Kenneth Sutcliffe, 69, who owns the light plant hire and inert tipping company, said the fire has affected the firm’s plans for the future and could result in him having to delay his retirement.
Sutcliffe said his firm had recently received permission for a landfill site and was hoping to start work on it this month.
“I was hoping to get the work done,” Sutcliffe said. “I’m 70 next month so I want to get it finished.”
Completing the work would have enabled the firm to help with removal of earth as part of the next phase of the Todmorden flood defence scheme, which is due to begin in the Spring.
