A substantial proportion of the new 1,700 units will replace 14% of Nationwide Platforms entire fleet by the close of the year.
Some of the new equipment, including 25 HAB scissor lifts, will be introduced to its fleet for the first time.
This new equipment was selected by the business’ New Product Committee, which was launched in the second half of 2011.
The complete range of new HAB machines, which comprises four models, will be available to customers by the end of July, with the first, the S152-12 already available for hire from Nationwide Platforms’ Luton depot.
These indoor use scissor lifts provide access to a working height of 15.2m from a narrow base, making them ideal for accessing areas through doorways and lift shafts.
The platform also has a cantilever deck to enable outreach over obstacles – a key requirement when working at height in retail settings.
Other HAB models set to enter the fleet include 22.5 and 28m diesel scissor lifts designed to overcome the uneven terrain typical of construction sites, as well as a 17.5 metre indoor model.
Nationwide Platforms’ sales and marketing director Richard Miller, said: “In many of the instances we’re updating the tried and tested equipment we know is already popular with customers, whilst in others we’re presenting clients with powered access that we believe can prove even more suitable for overcoming their working at height challenges.”
Other equipment set to enter Nationwide Platforms’ fleet includes low level units, booms, scissors and vehicle mounted access platforms.
Almost all of the new equipment will have entered Nationwide Platforms’ fleet by the autumn.
