The four machines are part of a replacement programme and cover the 22t-30t range bringing its investment in new plant and machinery to over £1m in the last 12 months.
Operations Manager Stuart Kirk said: “While this is the first time we’ve bought Volvo’s for our plant fleet we are pretty familiar with the product having hired in various models from local hire companies over a period of time.
“We noted that when comparing like for like the Volvo product offered a significant fuel saving over the competition, so this coupled to our own operators’ acceptance of the product and a competitive package on offer were the deciding factors to opt for Volvo.”
The four machines join a mixed fleet of equipment including CAT excavators and dozers, as well as drilling rigs, screens, crushers and dumpers.
All four machines have been supplied with Volvo’s Blue service agreements.
“Operating nationwide means we also need to align ourselves with suppliers who can support us on a national basis and Volvo has that ability with its support centres and network of mobile engineers,” said Kirk.
