JCB has signed an agreement with Garic which will see the site welfare specialist manufacture the units under licence using the plant giant’s branding.
The JCB Eco Welfare Unit is primarily powered by solar panels and is available for sale or to hire through JCB’s UK dealership network and directly from Garic.
John Atkinson, Director and General Manager, JCB Consumer Products Ltd, said: “With the launch of the JCB Eco Welfare Unit we are entering a new market with an industry-leading product that complements our existing range of plant.
“It will enable firms to supply a secure, comfortable space for employees, while reducing operating costs.
“The JCB brand inspires trust and quality and it is vital that our partners reflect these values.
“Garic’s 11 years’ experience in solar technology, and many more in the welfare market, makes them the ideal business to work alongside in this venture.”
Gary Greally, Financial Director, Garic Ltd, said: “JCB is highly selective over the products it chooses to bear its name.
“We have worked closely with the JCB team to design a bespoke unit which meets the highest standards of quality that are synonymous with the JCB brand.”
The JCB Eco Welfare Unit features a canteen for six to ten people with microwave facilities and hot running water, anti-vandal security doors and a WC room.
The unit is light enough to be towed by most commercial vehicles, with a hydraulic chasse enabling it to easily transform from a mobile unit into a secure static unit.
