The order covers 3t and 6t dumper trucks, both straight and swivel, and 9t straight machines.

Hewden and Thwaites have a long-term supply agreement with Hewden buying their first dumper off Thwaites in the 1970s.

The new order will see the larger machines fitted with Deutz engines for greater efficiency, greater economy and more power.

Hewden Marketing Director, Jeff Schofield, said: “Each machine is part of our core fleet with a next day delivery guarantee.

“The new additions will simply allow us to say yes to more customers.”

Launched one year ago, the core fleet guarantee has seen a surge in demand for the top 30 plant hire products, including dumpers.

The hirer has taken more than 20,000 orders since launching the market’s first guaranteed next day delivery service.

Hewden is now extending its core fleet with standard accommodation units being added to the existing 30-product range, which are priced at £75.

With a visible upfront total cost of hire and clear transport costs Hewden has met demand with on-time delivery success rate standing at 98.78%.

Of the 1.2% that was delivered outside of the guarantee – some 248 customers were compensated with a £100 credit. Of these deliveries all but 22 were delivered, meaning the fulfilment of the 20,363 orders stood at 99.89%.
