The homes will be delivered by Battersea Power Station Development Company in partnership with Wandsworth Council on an undeveloped brownfield plot within Phase 5 of the 42-acre masterplan.

All 200 homes will be operated by the council, with properties including family housing available at social rent levels under its Homes for Wandsworth programme.

Construction is expected to start in 2027 for completion in 2029.

The scheme has been designed by Peckham-based Dowen Farmer Architects and will include communal gardens, a large south-facing roof garden and commercial and community space at ground level.

Funding will come through Wandsworth Council’s Housing Revenue Account alongside grant support from the Greater London Authority.

The professional team includes Buro Happold as structural engineer, MKP as M&E consultant and Cast Consultancy as cost consultant.

The project forms part of the remaining phases of the wider Battersea Power Station regeneration, where around 16 acres of brownfield land remain to be developed.

Those future phases have the potential to deliver up to 3.2m sq ft of residential, commercial, cultural and leisure space.

Studio Egret West has been appointed to evolve Rafael Viñoly’s original masterplan, drawn up more than 15 years ago, as the development team reviews plans for the remaining half of the regeneration site.

Battersea Power Station Development Company chief executive James Saunders said the developer would also submit a Section 73 planning application for the future phases later this month.
