We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join us in our Birmingham office. This is due to securing a further pipeline of flagship contracts across the Midlands and surrounding regions. The Role:
As the Senior Estimator you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of multi-million pound D&B projects within the designated timescales.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible to produce detailed priced tenders on Conquest software inside allocated time limits.
- Engagement with key supply chain during the tender process and hold face to face meetings to ascertain robust work package costing including all compliance and conditioning adjustment.
- To produce fully detailed conditioned like for like package comparisons.
- Engagement with GMI Operations team and Design Manager to understand operational methodology and sequence parameters which need to be integrated into the pricing across all components of the tender.
- Managing pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
- Preparing estimates to meet project goals, such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.
- Formulating contingency plans and effectively managing risks that might impact cost and time estimates.
- Collaborating with other teams, conducting site visits, and providing other services, like bid deliveries, when required.
- Prepare cost plans, feasibility studies and liaise with clients.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a Built Environment discipline.
- A proven track record of working for a principal contractor
- Proficient with Conquest software
- Willing to travel as and when required
